We are delighted to welcome parents and families to Heights High School, and we invite you to participate in campus events, particularly those that showcase Height's intellectual and service missions and let us not forget our comprehensive ATHLETIC program . If your BULLDOG is attending Heights High School for the first time, the best resource for information is the HEIGHTS PTO website.
HHS PTO produces an online Parent Handbook to provide families with useful information about the High School. The Handbook is located to the left of this page. You might also enjoy joining your peers in the Heights PTO Facebook community. We are now on TWITTER!
All parents are invited to join the Heights HS Parent Teacher Organization and are invited to participate in campus programs. The school also welcomes the participation of HHS parents in a range of DID YOU KNOW programs presented by the HHS PTO. Led by faculty and staff members, topics are held during the PTO's monthly general meeting. These presentations enables parents to learn and understand the ins and outs of high school and navigating the road to college.

Guidelines for Emergencies
At the Houston Independent School District, communication is one of our top priorities. We all must work together to ensure our students are successful, which is why we believe it’s so vital for our parents and students to stay informed. Therefore we have introduced a new communication tool — text messaging.
Text messaging does not replace our existing means of communications — callouts, emails, letters sent home with students or notices posted on our website. Rather, it is an additional way to quickly and efficiently contact you about campus emergencies and other important district and campus events.
Want to receive fast, accurate information about campus emergencies and district events, as well as school or district closures and emergencies? Text “YES” to 68453 to sign up for HISD text messaging!* You might also join the HISD Facebook Community to receive announcements. The HHS PTO Facebook page will also be updated.
Inclement Weather Hotline—Call 713-267-1704 for any schedule changes that may occur because of the weather.
HISD Procedures for Emergency Closing of Schools and Offices—The superintendent of schools may close schools and offices due to inclement weather or emergencies (e.g. flooding, icy roads, power failures, etc.) HISD announces such closings through its telephone and e-mail notification system, School Messenger. This information is also announced on radio and television stations and posted on this Web site. HISD's superintendent of schools will decide whether to close the school district, then make an official announcement.
Individuals who miss the media announcements can call HISD's Weather Hotline (713-267-1704) for details.
Emergencies—In an emergency, always dial 911. School-related emergencies or situations that require police assistance should also be reported to the HISD Police Department by calling 713-892-7777. To request non-emergency police service for HISD schools and facilities, call 713-842-3715. For more information, visit the Police Department Web site.
