Heights does not have a uniform policy, but it does have a dress code. The leadership and SDMC at Heights High School respect students’ desire to express themselves in the way they dress. All students are also expected to respect the school community by dressing in a manner appropriate for a school environment. The leadership team at Heights also believes that students and their parents or guardians are primarily responsible for students’ attire. Student attire should facilitate participation in learning, as well as the health and safety of students and the adults who supervise them. Our dress code standards are easy to follow. On the first day of school, we will review the policy with students. The second day, the dress code will be enforced.
HHS Allowable Dress Requirements
1. All students must have a student ID badge worn and visible at all times. It cannot be attached to backpacks. The photo of the student must be visible and unaltered (students will not have them on the first day of school--we will distribute them as soon as possible).
2. Students must dress in clothing that includes both a shirt with pants, shorts, a skirt, or the equivalent (a dress).
3. Clothing must cover areas from one armpit to the other. Tops must have shoulder straps. Shirts must meet pants at the waist, and the belly should be completely covered. Shorts/skirts/dresses should be long enough to reach approximately the mid-thigh. If in doubt, don’t wear them.
4. Clothing must cover undergarments. Undershirts/muscle shirts are considered undergarments.
5. Shoes must be worn at all times and must be safe for a school environment (pajamas, house shoes, or slippers shall not be worn).
6. Hats and other headwear must allow the face and ears to be visible. Hoodies must allow the student’s face and ears to be visible.
7. Clothing must be suitable for all scheduled classroom activities, including physical education, science labs, and other classes where unique hazards or specialized attire or safety gear is required.
Non-allowable Dress
1. Clothing, backpacks, lanyards, and shoe ornaments may not depict, advertise, or advocate the use of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana or other controlled substances or display or imply vulgar, discriminatory, or obscene language or images.
2. Clothing may not depict or imply pornography, nudity, or sexual acts.
3. Clothing advocating or depicting violence, criminal or gang related activity is prohibited.
4. Clothing may not be see-through.
5. Strapless tops and spaghetti strap tops are prohibited.
6. Du-Rags and/or bandanas are not permitted.
7. Earbuds and/or headphones are not permitted to be worn during the school day.

Heights HS no tiene un uniforme, pero si tiene un código de vestimenta que todos los estudiantes deben seguir. Los líderes y el SMDC del colegio respetan el deseo de los estudiantes de expresarse a través de su vestimenta. De la misma manera, se espera que todos los estudiantes respeten a la comunidad escolar, vistiéndose de una manera apropiada para un ambiente escolar. También creemos que tanto los padres como los estudiantes son responsables del atuendo de los estudiantes. El atuendo estudiantil debe facilitar la participación en las actividades de aprendizaje, y debe respetar la salud y seguridad de otros estudiantes y de los adultos que los supervisan. Nuestro código de vestimenta es muy fácil de seguir. Durante el primer día de clases, vamos a revisar la política con los estudiantes y a partir del segundo día de clases, la expectativa es que todos los estudiantes lo sigan.
Vestimenta Permitida
Todos los estudiantes deberán tener su identificación en una ubicación visible todo el tiempo. No debe estar en las mochilas y la foto del estudiante debe estar visible y sin alteraciones. (Las identificaciones no estarán disponibles el primer día de clases pero serán distribuidas tan pronto como sea posible.
Los estudiantes deberán usar un atuendo que incluya una camisa con pantalones, shorts, falda o equivalente (vestido).
La ropa debe cubrir toda el área desde una axila hasta la otra. Los tops deben tener tiros. Las camisas deben llegar a la altura de los pantalones a nivel de la cintura, con la barriga completamente cubierta. Shorts/faldas/vestidos deben ser lo suficientemente largos para llegar por lo menos a la mitad del muslo. Si tiene alguna duda si su atuendo es el correcto, es mejor que cambie a algo más apropiado.
El atuendo debe cubrir completamente la ropa interior. Las franelillas son consideradas ropa interior.
Los estudiantes deben usar zapatos en todo momento y deben ser seguros para un ambiente estudiantil. Las pijamas y pantuflas no son aceptables.
Gorras y otros sombreros deben dejar la cara y las orejas visibles en todo momento.
El atuendo debe ser adecuado para todas las actividades escolares del día, incluyendo educación física, laboratorios de ciencia y otras clases que requieran atuendo y/o lentes de seguridad.
Vestimenta No Permitida
La ropa, mochilas, cordones y los adornos de los zapatos no deben mostrar o incentivar el uso de alcohol, tabaco, marihuana u otras sustancias controladas. De la misma manera, no deberan mostrar o implicar imágenes vulgares, discriminatorias, racistas u obscenas.
La ropa no debe implicar pornografia, desnudez u actos sexuales.
Ropa incitando o mostrando violencia o actividad criminal asociada a pandillas esta prohibida.
La ropa no debe ser transparente.
Se prohíbe el uso de tops strapless y con tirantes delgados.
Las bandanas y du-rags están prohibidas
No se permite el uso de audífonos durante el horario escolar.
